Cadwyn is a Welsh word meaning a chain or a link. We are the link between the craftspeople who produce these beautiful gifts and the retailers who sell them.

Cadwyn Steddfod

Cadwyn was set up in the 1970’s to promote handcrafts made in Wales, and therefore employment opportunities for young people mainly in rural areas and the valley communities.

Since the we have added several other Welsh ranges to our collection. 

Before the end of the 1980’s, we started making direct contact with co-operatives and family enterprises in north Africa, and extended our work there into sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar.

We now also wholesale a large range of Fair Trade Gifts from Africa and beyond.

We can do this because we have a personal relationship with all of the producers and a real interest in what they are doing. We can supply the full ‘Point of Sale’ info, and are always eager to work with you to facilitate promotions and new enterprises.
